It's easy to see the alignment of interests, as it's the market leader in internet marketing, while Microsoft has almost all of the growth opportunities in digital marketing, and a lot of market share to gain. Microsoft does not mention how it will leverage LinkedIn's system for providing access to data in order to help customers, but you can expect that it will be part of the digital marketing solution.Their presentation was extremely positive and even somewhat overly positive. There was so much to be happy about for the respective companies and investors that I'm sure we can even expect a 'buy the news' sort of event. However, we need to dig into the details.
